Middle Finger Music Box
Maurizio Cattelan’s iconic middle finger sculpture has been replicated in L.O.V.E., a rotating music box by Seletti. The Italian artist’s original design was sold for a few euro as a souvenir at the piazza Affari in Milan, but it’s humorous and edgy style quickly became a present-day symbol of the city; the form mimics classical marble sculpture, yet the missing limbs spell out a sharp modern message. Seletti’s version carries the same wit and whimsy: once charged, the hand rotates while the box plays “Rain Keeps Falling on My Head.” |
